Motiv Mythic Jackal

Motiv is introducing a different kind of hybrid bowling ball with the Mythic Jackal. The purpose of this ball was to generate as much angle as possible while continuing to offer attributes of true heavy oil performance. This ball was designed to create angle when the heavy oil starts to transition. This high-performance ball uses the same Predator V2 core as the super successful Jackal Ghost. This low RG/high diff asymmetric core is wrapped with the Infusion HV 2:1 Hybrid Reactive coverstock. This cover technology uses two times as much pearl as it does solid for this coverstock enabling the ball to produce more angle downlane without totally losing traction.

Best shiny Jackal Motiv has ever made!

I personally didn't match up that well with the Jackal Flash and the Golden Jackal due to my ball roll, rev rate, and ball speed, but the Mythic Jackal took everything good about both of those balls and combined it into one. The Flash was a bit too clean and fast for my liking and the Golden handled oil well but was too slow off the spot. The Mythic sits directly between the two balls perfectly with just as much response to friction as the Flash and more ability to recover downlane, but handles oil amazingly! I am able to open up the lane with the Mythic so much sooner than I used to be able to and allows me to get into my favorite part of the lane. It's a perfect complement to the Jackal Ghost and Jackal Legacy as it clears the fronts better but still retains that amazing Jackal shape downlane. It also works extremely well with balls like the Ripcord Velocity and Iron Forge as it gives me a perfect idea of when to switch to those balls. This is easily the best shiny Jackal Motiv has ever made and it goes everywhere with me!

Mythic Jackal Review

The Mythic Jackal is the newest ball added to the very popular Jackal line.   It has the new strong Infusion HV 2:1 Hybrid Reactive cover and brings back the popular Predator V2 core. The Mythic Jackal creates a lot of down lane hook and is great on fresh and when the lanes start to transition. Designed for heavy oil conditions, the Mythic Jackal is a great piece to add for anyone looking for that versatile hybrid high end piece. This piece is great when a Jackal Ghost isn’t enough ball down lane and need something thats going to save energy in the front part of the lane and be faster response option down lane.

Mythic Jackal

Best polished Jackal to date. First Motiv polished ball that I didn’t have to adjust the surface on ever. Whatever the hybrid combination it is spot on, the Mythic gets though carry down like nothing I have thrown in 5 years. A lot can be said about a ball that a player can count on to turn the corner every time. Just enough midlane to get the ball started and the Hybrid cover keeps the ball continuing. Definitely something special.

A Strong and Angular Piece!

The Mythic Jackal is a great piece to transition from between the Jackal Ghost and the Venom Shock. This piece comes pretty shiny, and it is extremely strong overall for a shinier cover. This is a high rev player's dream ball to open up patterns when they're a little broken down or there is friction outside, but it is also great for other players when you still need a pretty big ball that gets through the fronts more easily!

Question:

Does this ball compliment the Iron Forge at all? I've always really liked hybrids but the fact that it's 2/3rds pearl makes me leary. I've been wanting a hybrid Jackal forever and just bought an Iron Forge.

2/13/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

To do a comparison I can use the numbers that Motiv has for each ball on their website. The Iron Forge is Length: 16 Backend: 18.5 Hook: 57 and the Mythic Jack is Length: 16 Backend: 18 Hook: 60 So there is not much difference besides the Jackal being stronger overall.

Question:

How does this ball compare to the jackal ghost?

4/5/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

They have the same weight block so the biggest change will be from the coverstock and finish. The Mystic Jackal has a hybrid coverstock and smoother coverstock versus the solid cover and duller finish on the Jackal Ghost. So the Mystic will react later on the lanes and have a sharper backend hook.

Question:

Can this ball be used on dry lane or any conditions?

5/12/2022 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This bowling ball is considered high performance and it has a high hook potential so it will work best in heavier oil conditions. If you were to try and use this ball in medium to lighter oil conditions it would react too early on the lane and would not have the continuation at the backend of the lane so the ball would hit flat and not drive as well through the pocket.
