Dexter's THE 9 bowling shoes have a patented interchangeable sole design that requires specialized THE 9 Soles. THE 9 Soles feature HyperFlex Hinges to help align the sole to the shoe properly in the HyperFlex Channels. The Toehold Clip is comprised of an abrasion-resistant material that was created to resist toe drag damage. These soles are available in a variety of materials for different slide preferences.

The 9 S10
I was using a s8 and was having sticking problems on our new synthetic approaches. I replaced it with a S10 and have had no problems since. The old S8 had worked fine on the old wood approaches but not so well on the new synthetic.

Sole has "protective toe". Must have thin sole.
#8 does not allow enough slide, #10 is too much slide. Unfortunately, the protective toe prevents it from fitting my shoes.

Hi there! Dexter's THE 9 bowling shoes have interchangeable soles and heels that can be traded from the right shoe to the left shoe and vise versa. If the shoes you received were set up for a right handed bowler then all you have to do is remove the soles and heels and apply them to the opposite shoes. We do sell extra soles and heels but they are all the same and are not right hand or left hand specific.

The sole will have a clip attached to the front of it. The clip will go into the front toe of the Dexter THE 9 shoe to help hold the sole in place. This sole will only work for the shoes that have the Toehold Hyperflex Engineering.

Unfortunately Dexter only has them individually. You may can try the ones that come on the shoes and then try to judge from that on if you need more or less slide. Depending on how much you slide or stick you may can make a guess if you need a little change or a drastic change.

If you have a Dexter SST 8 model then you would have to get an SST sole to fit that shoe. The Dexter THE 9 soles will only fit the Dexter THE 9 shoes ( it will also fit Storm SP3 models ).

It will depend on how much the sole sticks and how much more you need it to slide. The higher the number the more it will let you slide so an S10 sole will give you slightly more slide than the S9 but you may want to up even more if need a lot more slide than you are getting from the S9
