Customer Questions & Answers | Reviews
Question:
is this good for two handers who have medium speed but high revs
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Yes, if you rev dominant then you would need a ball that has good length so the ball does not overreact too early on the lanes. The pearl coverstock and polished finish on this ball will give you great length.

Question:
What is the difference between the Trend and the Hy-road? Would these two bowling balls be good together in an arsenal?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
While the Trend shows to be a high performance ball it has very similar features to the Hy-Road so the performance would be closer than the numbers may indicate. The Trend has the same cover as the Hy-Road Pearl but the weight blocks are different. I would give the Trend a slightly higher hook potential and a little more length than the Hy-Road but they are actually going to be very very close and if you wanted to use the Hy-Road Pearl to compliment the Trend that may be a better pairing.

Question:
is the bowling ball good for someone that have slow speed
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Yes, if you needed a ball for heavy oil conditions this would be good for someone with a slow ball speed. You want to make sure you have a pearl coverstock and polished finish to get the most length out of the ball as you can so the ball does not roll too early.

Question:
What is the difference between Astro physix and the Trend and the Hy-road pearl? I already have a idol pearl, I want to enrich my arsenal, which one do you recommend?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The Astrophysix has a slightly stronger weight block so it may give you more versatility to have that as your first ball and then the Idol Pearl as a back up for when the lanes get more medium oil. The Hy-Road Pearl may be too similar to the Idol Pearl to really need something like that but if you wanted something more for lighter oil then perhaps an Electrify Pearl would be a good option.

Question:
Can this bowling ball pair good with the Storm Phaze 3
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Yes, you could start the night with the Trend and then as the lanes get to more medium oil conditions you can transition to the Phaze 3 and it should give you decent length so that you can still play a sharp backend like you do with the Trend.

Question:

Question:
what do you mean about pin top weight?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Pin and top weight are specification you can request if you have a specific drilling layout in mind and want to make sure the ball comes in a range that lets you get a drilling to match your style. If you are not sure what pin or top weight you need you may check with your local proshop to see what they recommend you to get so they can drill the ball to fit your style. If you do not mention a pin or top weight the ball will come with a normal pin and top weight and you will have a few drilling options available.

Question:
compare the trend to the astro physix please ,,, thank you
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
They both have the same coverstock and finish out of the box so the big difference is the weight block. The Trend has a Symmetric weight block and that reads the lanes just a little later and it is just a little less flare than the AstroPhysix which has an Asymmetric weight block that starts to read a little earlier and has a stronger flare potential.

Have an answer to this question?

The Trend is a high performance ball and the Axiom Pearl is an upper mid performance ball so the Trend will have a little higher hook potential. Also the Trend is designed to get a little more length which will give it a sharper backend hook than the Axiom Pearl.

Question:
I play a down and in shot...house shot...not a whole lot of hook, but some..will this ball work for me or will it be too strong?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball would work well in the first game or two when the lanes have more oil on them but as the lanes start to dry some down into medium oil or lighter you would have to change to a different option that is more suited for less oil.
0 of 0 customers found this answer helpful. Did you find this answer helpful? Yes | No Thanks for your feedback!
Answer:
This should work well for what you need this for. It has good length with the pearl cover to help you play your down and in shot and it will work well in medium oil and some heavy oil conditions which is what a typical house shot will be.

Question:
How does this ball compare to the Storm IQ Tour and the Storm IQ Tour Nano
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The Trend is considered a high performance ball while the IQ Tour and IQ Tour Nano are upper mid performance balls. The Trend is also a pearl ball with a polished finish so it will go longer and have a sharper backend than the IQ Tour which was a solid cover and the IQ Tour Nano which was a pearl cover but had a duller 3000 grit finish.

Question:
I have a crux prime and astro physix that Worked out well for usbc nationals what would have worked out well after those 2 wouldve been, remember the old virtual energy? That was a hybrid reactive and great midlane read how does the trend compare? Ve's # are 2.48 and .48
Have an answer to this question?

The Trend would be a good option or you could also consider the Storm Phaze III which is another great option for medium oil conditions when the lanes are starting to dry a little and the Crux Prime and Astrophysix become too aggressive.

Question:
Would you please compare the Intense Fire to the Trend? Are they similar enough that I would be wasting my money if I bought the Trend?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
They were going to be pretty close but there are a few noticeable differences. The Intense Fire does have a slightly earlier read due to the hybrid cover and the weight block compared to the Trends pearl cover and weight block. This slight difference will also make the Trend have a slightly lower overall hook.

Question:
I bought a Track Tundra last year for medium oil. I really like this ball and still using it but my local bowling alley has switched to heavier oil. Just wondering how this compares? Thanks!
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The Tundra had a pearl coverstock finished at 1000 grit polished finish to give it good length and a strong backend hook on medium oil conditions. The Trend is a higher performance ball to handle more oil but it has a similar length and backend hook in that heavy oil compared to the Tundra in medium oil because it also has a pearl coverstock with a 1500 grit polished finish.

Question:
Compare the trend to the UFO alert. Which comes out first
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
I would give a slight edge to the UFO Alert being a little stronger reaction. The RG values are a little stronger and the Hybrid cover on the Alert could help it read a little better in heavier oil than the pearl cover on the Trend. But both could be used in heavier oil.
