Customer Questions & Answers | Reviews
Question:
what is the symbol for a symmetrical and asymmetrical ball
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
There is not currently a symbol to distinguish which balls have a Symmetric versus Asymmetric weight block but Asymmetric weight blocks are usually only found in higher performance bowling balls and just a few upper mid performance balls. Mid performance balls will almost always have a symmetric weight block which is the case for the Hammer Raw series.

Question:
How do I get measured for drilling
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
You would need to get the measurements at a local proshop. If you have a drill sheet from a previous ball you had drilled then you can use that drill sheet to fill out our drill sheet.

Question:
Which raw bowling ball is comparable to blue hustle
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
There are a few Hustle bowling balls that have had the color blue so I could not be exactly sure which Hustle you are wanting to compare to but this is very comparable to the Hustle series. Both are mid performance for medium to lighter oil conditions. Both have similar polished finishes out of the box to give them good length and both have a similar strength of weight block so they should be pretty comparable.

Question:
How would you compare this to the storm electrify pearl
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The Raw hybrid and Electrify pearl are going to be very similar in overall hook. They also give you similar length with a strong backend hook in medium to light oil conditions. The cover on the Raw is hybrid which would normally read earlier than the pearl cover on the Electrify but the weight block on the Raw reacts a little later so this balances them back out to be very comparable.

Question:
What would be a good ball for someone trying to move up a bit from this ball. I’ve had this ball for a bit and it works great but now want something a little stronger. What would be some good suggestions?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
If you like the length that this ball gives you but want something stronger on the backend and something that may be able to handle a little more oil then you could go up to the Web Pearl or the new Widow Ghost.

Question:
Is this for someone bowling a straight ball
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball is designed to have hook potential for medium to lighter oil conditions so if you wanted a ball that goes straight you could get a less expensive ball that is more designed to go straight. You may search under the spare bowling ball options because they are best for throwing straight.

Question:
What ball can replace the hammer scandel
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The Scandal was a high performance ball that was duller to read earlier on the lanes and worked mostly in heavy oil. This ball is on the opposite side of the performance scale because it is a mid performance ball for lighter oil conditions and reads later on the lanes. You could use this ball as a backup to the Scandal for when the Scandal is too aggressive and you need something to transition to in medium to lighter oil conditions.

Question:
I am a straight down the lane stroker bowler, 13 ball speed & lower rev...is this a good ball choice for me?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball is designed to go long on the lane and have a sharp backend hook on medium to lighter oil. So this would match your style and work well for you in these conditions.

Question:
How would you compare this to the roto grip hustle wine
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This would actually be a pretty close comparison. Both are mid performance bowling balls for medium to lighter oil and both give you good length with a decent backend hook. The Hammer has a hybrid cover which would typically read a little smoother but the Wines finish may even that out some so they are still very similar.

Question:
Do you have a 12lb or close to 12lb in stock?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
We currently show 12lbs available in the weight selection drop down box. However, a ball listed as 12lbs could be with a few ounces of 12lbs so you would need to mention the customer comments section or in the pin/top weight specs box if you want the ball to be a specific 12lbs weight like 12lbs even or 12lbs 3oz.

What’s the best cleaner to use on this ball? Do I need to sand it too? I’m new to this so a little confused about that. By the way I bought this ball in 13lb and I love it. Also a senior lady for league and fun bowler
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hello! I'm thrilled to hear you love this ball! I would suggest using the Brunswick Big B Bowling Ball Cleaner and finish with the Brunswick Crown Factory Compound which is the finish out of the box, so you won't need to sand.

Question:
How does this ball compare to the ocean vibe?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hammer has an FCC rating which gives a good breakdown of the strength of the finish, core, and coverstock. The Ocean Vibe FCC Rating = Total-19.5, Finish-7, Core-6.5, Cover-6 and the Raw Hybrid FCC Rating=Total-21.5, Finish-7.5, Core-5.25, Cover-8.75 So the Ocean Vibe has a slightly stronger core but the finish and coverstock on the Raw Hybrid are stronger giving it a slightly higher overall hook potential.
