Scorpion Strike

The Hammer Scorpion Strike can be your ideal benchmark ball. Although a pearl, this ball takes surface changes very well and reads the midlane really good. I prefer this ball on house shot type of conditions for league or tournament play. In the right situation, you can start and finish league or a tournament with this ball in your hand.

Great Ball!

The Hammer Scorpion Strike is an incredible smooth ball. It has a great midlane reaction and continues through the back. The roll is very consistent and predictable. I especially love that when it sees the dry it does not overreact! It has a very controllable roll, but do not mistake that for low reaction or weak. I am able to play down and in as well as open up the lane when the conditions allow. It is very versatile.

Scorpion Strike

I drilled this ball, pin up, with a 60 x 4 x 35 layout. I think this ball fills a gap in the hammer line. I drilled it the same as my scorpion low flare and it is cleaner, longer, and more responsive at the end of the pattern. I have used this ball on my local house shots as a step-down ball from my low flare and my hazmat solid. I can also see this ball being used as a game 1 ball on lower volumes or high friction surfaces.

Hammer Scorpion Strike

I love the fact that I can go right to the Scorpion Strike when the Scorpion Low Flare is picking up to quickly. The Low Flare has become one of my favorite pieces and with the Strike to give me extended play later in the set, I believe in these two to be my one two punch balls. I have not found a pattern that shuts out these pieces at all. Great job Hammer!!

Very underrated

This ball is so clean through the front, but very predictable. It goes through the pins with ease. This ball is one of the best at its price point.

A Pretty Pearl!

The Scorpion Strike is cleaner than previous Scorpion-line balls. It is pretty clean through the fronts and gives a slightly sharper shape than the Scorpion Sting. I think this is suited for all types of bowlers, but those with more axis rotation will likely be the ones who see this piece as the most versatile.

Question:

Will this ball work for a right handed bowler who throws a back up ball?

6/30/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, you would just need to make sure the driller knows to set the layout up for a back-up release and the ball should work fine.

Question:

How does this compare to the low flare

7/10/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The pearl coverstock Hammer Scorpion Strike would react later on the lanes with a skid/flip reaction compared to the hybrid coverstock Hammer Scorpion Low Flare which has more of a strong arc reaction.

Question:

how do you know how I want the ball drilled?

2/18/2025 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball will have a custom drilling option for $39.95. If you select for us to drill this , when you add the ball and drilling to your cart, it will take you to a drill sheet page. You would then enter your measurements from a previous drill sheet and we will drill the ball to match the measurements you provide. If you do not already have the measurements, we could not do the drilling unfortunately.
