Finally, a Strong Assym for ALL

The Onyx is the strongest ball I have thrown to date, hands down. Even more impressive is the continuation the ball has even though it creates so much traction in the front part of the lane. The Predator V2 core matched with the Leverage HXC solid cover stock is a fantastic combination and I am sold on the Duramax additive! All the covers with it have retained their texture longer requiring less surface prep and maintenance. Overall, the Onyx is one of the most useful Big assym ball on the market that can be used by all styles. Eric George Motiv Staff

Second coming of the Ghost!

The Jackal Onyx follows in the footsteps of the greatest Asym solid ever made, the Jackal Ghost, by offering a stellar amount of on lane control combined with the torque of an asymmetric ball and the continuation that fans have come to expect from the Jackal line. This is the most overall hook we have seen yet from the Jackal line by giving similar strength in the front of the lane to the Jackal Ambush, but with more downlane shape. Expect this to be the biggest ball in your bag that you can plan on hooking on any lane condition. This is a piece we absolutely needed in the line and I can't wait for more people to experience the raw power of the Jackal Onyx! - Anthony E, MOTIV Staff Member

MOTIV JACKAL ONYX

The Jackal Onyx has arrived and is making a statement. Consistent with the Jackal line is the PREDATOR V2 core wrapped in a aggressive LEVERAGE HXC coverstock which provides traction when no other ball can handle the volume. The Onyx sits in between the very early Ambush and the GOAT GHOST. The Onyx provides early traction and smooth continuation down lane. SPEED DOMINANT players looking for core help to see motion down lane will love this ball. For high volume or longer patterns the Onyx will be a staple in everyones bag

Jackal Onyx

Jackal Onyx Ball Review The Jackal Onyx is the newest ball added to the fan favorite Jackal line. It has the Leverage HXC Solid Reactive cover that gives you strength and stability with a strong smooth motion. It’s designed for heavy oil patterns and made for when the lanes are fresh with a ton of volume. The Jackal Onyx has the Predator V2 core. The Jackal Onyx creates a very strong round motion and is great for the crest heavy oil patterns especially when the pattern calls for a strong round piece ball. This ball should fit the top spot of the bag when the cleaner balls aren’t giving enough traction in the oil. Designed for heavy oil conditions, the Jackal Onyx is going to be a piece to add for anyone looking for something when the nothing else is enough and really needs that big ball to do all the work. This ball has all the hype and I believe it’s going to live up to it!

Question:

Do you have to throw the ball hard

1/22/2025 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The product description and details will often reflect on a the performance for someone with an average ball speed and average rev rate. If you have a slower ball speed then you could expect this to read a little earlier for you. If you have a lower rev rate and lower speed you should be able to use this pretty well as described for medium oil conditions with no issues. If you have a slower ball speed and higher rev rate then you may consider using this more in medium to heavier conditions because the ball may want to read too strong in the midlane on medium conditions for you and may work better with a little more oil.
