Pros:

Strong Backend, hooks very strong, can play well on sport pattern 40 ft

Cons:

Skids too much fresh out the box, very late reaction, might need to change finish

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Smells delicious and hooks viciously

The ball is very good. Fresh out the box, it skidded across the lane but the backend reaction is so strong it has no other choice but to hook. If there is little to none oil on the lanes, this ball is usable. Every throw is a gutter ball with no oil. The flare of the ball also looks very nice as well and it just turns the corner into a strike every time. The apple kiwi pie smell is quite strong but it smells very good as well. Just don't go around asking people to smell your balls

Question:

How would this ball compare to tnt infused

Answer:

Great question! The upper-mid performance Storm Summit Peak is going to be more aggressive with a higher hook potential than the Roto Grip TNT Infused desgined for lighter oil lane conditions.

Question:

where is sumit peak compare phaze ii and tour dynamic x

12/29/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

One of the first things that jumps out is that the Summit Pearl is designed to go much longer on the lanes than the Phaze II and Dynam-X. The pearl coverstock and polished finish help the Summit Peak get down the lane with a sharper backend hook. All three are considered upper mid performance pieces but that is about the only thing these would have in common.

Question:

Would this fit well with my Phaze2 and Absolute?

1/8/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball will give you a big enough difference in the reaction to maybe justify having this along with the Phaze II and Absolute. If you were to start the night with the Absolute in heavier oil then the Summit Peak would be a good option to transition to as the Absolute starts getting too strong because the Summit Peak will go longer on the lanes and it can handle down into medium oil better than the Absolute. The Phaze II will read earlier on the lanes to give you a smoother reaction so depending on what line you were looking to take or play you may could go with the Summit Peak for one option or go to the Phaze II as a different option but you may not find that you would need to use both the Summit Peak and Phaze II on the same night.

Question:

I’m looking for a replacement for my black and gold black widow. How does this look as a replacement? What would you recommend if not?

1/16/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Some of the key features on the Widow Black/Gold was an upper mid performance ball for medium-heavy oil, hybrid coverstock, and strong weight block. The Summit Peak also is an upper mid performance ball for medium to heavy oil and it has a strong weight block but it had a pearl coverstock which may give this a little more length. All things considered this could be a very good option to replace the Widow Black/Gold.

Question:

Hello, if I put a 3000 Grit on the summit peak, will it basically be the same ball as the regular summit? If not, what would be the difference between the two?

1/29/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you sand the Summit Peak to the same 3000 grit finish as the Summit it will be closer in reaction but the Summit Peak still has a pearl coverstock compared t the hybrid cover on the Summit so there will always be that slight difference giving the Summit Peak a slightly later read.

Question:

At 73 years old I’m searching for a 13 pound ball with the best weight block such as found in 14 plus balls, is any thing available ? Thanks

1/31/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Storm website will shoe each weight block for each weight so you can see more details on how the 13lb Summit Peak will perform. Unfortunately the higher performance balls from Storm will change the weight block as you drop down from 14lbs to 13lbs so you may see a similar weight block on several different 13lb Storm balls. Question:

Is this a good step down ball from the super nova

1/31/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Summit Peak would be a step down from the Super Nova both in terms of overall hook potential and also in terms of lane conditions. The Summit Peak works best in medium to heavy oil while the Super Nova is really meant for heavy oil only. Also the Summit Peak gives you more length on the lanes which could make it a decent transition down from the Super Nova. However, the Summit Peak is still very aggressive so you may still need a good ball to transition too after the Summit Peak if the lanes get lighter in the last games of the night.

Question:

Is there much difference in the Peak and XP Pearl to have room in the bag for both ?? thanks for your help. I have the Peak and love it.

2/4/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Summit Peak will have a stronger hook potential overall and handle a little more oil than the XP (Xponent) Pearl. The Summit Peak falls in the upper mid performance group and works well in medium to heavy oil while the Xponent Pearl is considered mid performance and really best in medium oil only. If you have a pretty deep arsenal the Xponent Pearl may be a good transition down from the Summit Peak as you get more into medium oil or possibly even a little lighter oil conditions.

Would the summit peak pair up well with the absolute once the oil breaks down?

2/25/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

You could definitely start the night with the Absolute in heavier oil then the Summit Peak would be a good option to transition to as the Absolute starts getting too strong because the Summit Peak will go longer on the lanes and it can handle down into medium oil better than the Absolute.

Question:

Is the finish grit 1500 then polished?

3/23/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

To get to the out-of-box finish you would actually need to work through a few different grits starting with 500 , then 2000, then 4000 grit and finished with a small amount of the Reacta Gloss polish compound.

Question:

hey how would it do for a bowler high revs and high velo two handed

4/19/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If both your revs and speed are high then the ball would actually work as advertised. If you were more speed dominant then the later reaction of this ball would maybe give you trouble but because you have that higher rev rate to match, it should still help this ball to have a very strong backend reaction on the lanes. If you were rev dominant then you may find this ball to work mostly in heavy oil rather that being for medium to heavy but because you have good speed you may be able to use this down into medium oil conditions some.
