Question:

I roll a backup ball around 8or10 speed I I use roll from left side most of time is oil do you I could use this ball ball

2/14/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball is rated to work best in medium oil conditions. The left side of the lane usually holds oil longer because less bowlers are left handed and bowling on that side of the lane so as a backup bowler and someone who goes to the left side of the lane you may prefer a ball that can handle a little more oil. The Storm Fate has good length like this IQ Tour Ruby but it has a stronger hook potential to be able to handle a little more oil.

asym or sym ? also I have the Zen and Cosmos and Eternity . is this ball to similar to add to the bag ?

2/28/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hello Army Dad! The Storm IQ Tour Ruby has a symmetric core and is best on medium oil lanes with less hook potential than the Zen, Cosmos, & Eternity in your bag. So if you need an extra ball when the lanes break down a bit, this would be an excellent choice!

Question:

How does IQ Tour Ruby react /perform when the lanes break down and oil gets thin? Will be a good transition ball?

6/14/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This ball works best in medium oil conditions but with the polished finish and pearl cover you could still use this down into some lighter conditions. The only reason you may have trouble with this in lighter oil conditions would be if you were rev dominant and it may be a little too strong for someone rev dominant in lighter oil.

If I have the gem as my first ball out of the bag and the X-3 in my second ball slot would this be a good 3rd ball out of the bag?

8/16/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this would be a great fit to use after your RST X-3 in medium lane conditions and possibly down into some lighter oil conditions. This gives you more length so that as the lanes transition it will not try to jump too early on you and will give a good backend reaction.

Looking to get Ruby IQ and DNA to replace Zen Master (polished) and Proton Physix (Sanded to 1000), Is DNA & IQ good options to replace with?

Question:

Would IQ Ruby be a good fit with Intense Fire, HyRoad X, and HyRoad Pearl

11/9/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

This could fill in the small gap you have between the Intense Fire and HyRoads to give you something that reads later than the Intense Fire but is still stronger than the HyRoads. I could see how this could be an option if you have a larger arsenal as a good medium oil ball and play the HyRoads in a little lighter oil conditions.

11/14/2023 - By Bowling.Com Staff

Question:

Would this ball get further down lane than the fate and be “weaker”?

11/12/2023 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you are throwing both bowling balls in the same lane conditions the IQ Ruby would be later and weaker than the Fate. However, if you are throwing the Fate in a little heavier oil and throwing the Ruby in medium oil they would be closer in hook potential for those respective conditions and the Ruby would read just slightly earlier on its designed lane condition.

Question:

I roll the ball about 9 to10 miles per hour with that speed my ball. Snaps at the end and I get a lot of splits. I throw a 15# ball should I go to a14# what would you recommend

1/23/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

It can be hard to say without seeing exactly what is happening in person. If you were wanting to get more speed you could look at dropping a pound to see if that helps with your speed. A 14lb will not "drive" through the pins as well as a 15lb though so what you gain in speed you may loose in mass.

Question:

What year did the IQ Ruby come out? Would the IQ Ruby and the DNA Coil be a good combination?

4/7/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The release date for the IQ Tour Ruby was March 17th 2023. The combination of the DNA Coil and IQ Tour Ruby would be a great option with the DNA being the heavy oil ball to start the night and the Ruby being the back up option for when the DNA is ready too strong and/or too early as the lanes dry out. Both have a similar late hook reaction with their pearl coverstocks and gloss finish so you should not have to adjust too much as you transition.
