NSPCA’s benefit Out of the Gutters

“Phantom — The Las Vegas Spectacular” star Anthony Crivello tossed bowling balls just a few lanes down from the casts of Fantasy at the Luxor and The D* Word at LVH. Somebody suggested hypnotist Anthony Cools wear bowling shoes during his show without at all mentioning the weird footwear, and he said that he might actually do that.

That's only naming a few of the more than two dozen Las Vegas celebrities and entertainers who took part in the Out of the Gutters charity event at Sam’s Town to raise money for Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and no-kill animal shelter in Las Vegas.

People who made appearances at Out of the Gutters charity event included:

• Graham Fenton of “Jersey Boys” at the Paris has a band, A Million Pieces, that has yet to play a date in Las Vegas, in part because two members live in L.A. Fenton is here, and another member lives in Montana. Also, Fenton lettered in bowling at Memorial High School in Millville, N.J., and sadly reports that the bowling team lacked any cheerleaders.

• Mark Shunock who is working on a late-night charity show, "Monday After Dark," which he wants to put into a Vegas nightspot and is talking to one particularly edgy nightspot about this project.

• Planet Hollywood hypnotist Marc Savard and wife Joanna who are expecting their fourth child (a girl) this month, and that date might fall on Savard’s birthday, which is Aug. 22. Joanna is giving birth naturally with the help of hypnosis from her hubby. The couple are trying to arrive at a name beginning with “L” to match the rest of the kids — girls, all — in the Savard clan. I thought of “Lane” during the bowling, and it turns out “Layne” with that spelling is actually in the couple’s list of Top 10 names.

• Former Channel 8 morning anchor Dayna Roselli, who walked the carpet with “Jersey Boys” star Deven May, is back in broadcasting, debuting Monday on KXNT 100.5-FM. She joins Nate “Mostly Sunny” Tannenbaum and Joe Gillespie from 6 to 9 a.m. weekdays in what is termed a “sit-in” stint. Roselli has been in public frequently since she left KLAS in July 2012 and is still exploring options as she begin what she describes as a part-time run at KXNT.

• Howard Leese, the member of “Raiding the Rock Vault” just wrapped a co-headlining tour with Bad Company on that band’s 40th anniversary, which means, damn we’re getting old.

All things considered it was a successful charity event.
