USBC Queens

Day 4 just is just about wrapped up with the USBC Queens. Defending champ Diandra Asbaty was making a run for the show again! Although she qualified 49th out of 64, this still qualified her for match play where anything can happen. Diandra lost to Carolyn Dorin-Ballard whom she beat in the finals last year. So even though Carolyn got her revenge, this is double elimination match play which means Asbaty is on her last life. With the long road ahead, Diandra won the next 3 matches before finally getting eliminated by Shalin Zulkifi.

One thing that is standing out, the amount of international players that made the top 64. 7 out of the 8 Singapore laides made the top 64. I am sure this is due to the WTBA World Championships just finishing at the same bowling center that the Queens are at now.

Top Qualifier #1 Shayna Ng is undefeated still and will bowl against #13 Jennifer Higgins. Another international player #43 Diana Zavjalova who is playing against #7 Leanne Hulsenburg. Those are the final 4 in the Winners Bracket. In the Losers Bracket we have #12 Lynda Barnes vs #15 Carol Gianotti. #5 Geraldine Ng vs #19 Stefanie Nation. #31 Kim Kearney vs #28 Jovan Blankenfeld. #21 Josie Earnest vs #8 Jazreel Tan.

I can not wait to see who will make the show. It will be interesting to see how many international stars will give a run for the show. I am going to go out on a limb and give Diana Zavjalova my vote on winning the show. Hey we never know! Good luck to the entire field and I will be watching on www.bowl.com.
