Fireball Purple/Gold
I drilled mine 65 X 4 X 50. Ebonite continues to produce great pieces. The Fireball Purple/Gold includes a stronger version of HK22 with GB11.2 pearl additives. This is the perfect piece if you are looking for a ball for medium to dry lane conditions.

Ebonite Fireball Purple & Gold
FIREBALL!!!! Last year Ebonite came out with a ball called Fireball. I did not try one, but my friend Craig Miller swore by it. Then he shot a couple 300's & a couple 800's. Recently Ebonite came out with the Fireball Purple & Gold. Well, I wasn't going to miss out a 2nd time. So glad I ordered one. This is a ball designed for medium to dry lanes, but so far, I've liked it on the fresh for our House Shot. This ball has the same core but a little different formulation of the cover-stock chemistry. GB11.2 w/ HK22 vs GB10.7 w/HK22 which I'm told gives this ball a little stronger change of direction when it reads the friction. All I can tell you beyond that is, I like the shape it creates, I like the way it goes through the pins, and being a "mid" performance ball, it won't break the bank.

Fireball the Stronger Version
The new Fireball by Ebonite is out and couldn't wait to drill one. I found the purple and gold version to be about 2 -4 boards stronger and a bit earlier that the cinnamon version.

How does this compare with the Hammer Vibe and the Roto Grip Hustle X-Ray for use in dry to medium oil?

There are a couple of different Vibe options but the most current released Vibe is the Arctic Vibe so I will use this in the comparison. The Fireball Pearl will give you the most length of these 3 options and this will result in a sharper backend hook. They are very comparable in over hook potential on medium to lighter oil conditions but the coverstocks and/or finish will make each option read the lanes slightly earlier or later than the others with the X-Ray reading the earliest, the Fireball Pearl reading the latest and the Arctic Vibe reading somewhere in between. That all being said the Ocean Vibe would be a much closer comparison to the Fireball Pearl as both have a similar pearl coverstock and compound finish so that would be a very very close comparison.

The weight block does change in the lower weights with the 12-13lb ball having the lightbulb shaped weight block. The RG numbers for the 13lb ball are : RG 2.574 and RG Diff 0.040.
