Hammer Effect Tour

Hammer Effect Tour The Hammer Effect Tour bowling ball—a groundbreaking evolution in ball reaction. Hammer pioneered the low RG and low differential asymmetric ball with the iconic Obsession Tour and Envy Tour, and now, the Hammer Effect Tour continues this legacy. This ball features the updated Effect core, designed with an optimized low differential and intermediate differential by removing the Radial Disc from the Huntsman core. This adjustment creates the ideal numbers for the ultimate tour-level performance. Outfitted with the trusted TourV3 Solid cover, the Hammer Effect Tour is engineered to excel on medium oil conditions, delivering a smooth, continuous, and reliable motion.

Versatility That Shines

This ball works on all kinds of lanes, and bowlers can’t stop raving about it. From oily to medium conditions, it adjusts like a champ. Change the surface a bit—sand it down or polish it up—and it still performs. It’s like having multiple balls in one.

Predictable and Trustworthy

Bowlers say this ball does what they expect every time. It doesn’t surprise them with wild hooks or weak shots. They trust it to hit the pocket consistently, especially on tough sport patterns. That reliability boosts their confidence big-time.

Power Without the Chaos

The Hammer Effect Tour brings serious hook, but it’s not out of control. Bowlers cheer for its aggressive backend move that still feels manageable. It digs into the oil and flips hard, yet they can steer it right where they want. That balance makes it a game-changer.

Very Versatile!

The Effect Tour has been an important addition to the Hammer lineup! This one is very similar to the popular Obsession Tour, but the difference I have seen is it being just a touch earlier. Still, it is extremely versatile and used frequently!

Hammer Effect Tour

Every bowler needs that ball that they can rely on to do damage without causing too much trouble. They usually have the word Tour somewhere in the name. Web Tour, Obsession Tour, Envy Tour, and now the Effect Tour. This is the strongest over all Tour ball I've seen yet but with that same controllable rounded shape. I would call it a high-end asymmetric benchmark ball. It has a similar look to the Envy Tour with a little bigger footprint. For me, it is 3-4 more with my feet. I definitely like what I've seen so far.

Hammer Effect Tour

The smooth reaction and predictability of Hammer's previous Tour balls have been fantastic and it keeps getting better. The Obsession Tour and the Envy Tour have had much proven success at every level. The new Effect Tour will continue this legacy and provide a smoother roll in the front part of the lane and an aggressive, yet controllable move off the spot. This piece is perfect for medium to heavy oil patterns.

Hammer Effect Tour Review

Hammer Effect Tour Review Stats: Speed – 17.0; RPM – 335; AT – 19; AR – 55 Layout: 45 x 5” x 40 Hammer’s newest Top Shelf launch, the Effect Tour, is a newly engineered, solid tour version of the original Effect featuring several improvements that should surely get lots of attention. Eliminating the Radial Disc from the bottom of the Huntsman core lowered the differential and intermediate differential, creating optimum numbers worthy of being Hammer’s next tour ball. I chose the layout I did to get the ball to roll forward a little sooner due to my higher tilt, but transition a bit slower to really utilize that longer, stronger roll phase of ball motion. I have used it on a couple of different patterns and here is my assessment: 42 ft. THS (typical house shot): The Effect Tour has been a very good ball for the house shot in two centers I frequent. What I love about this ball is that it chews through the oil, makes a defined move off the spot, but is still predictable enough to control from shot to shot. Very versatile to cover changes, I took mine from box finish, down to 1000 and back up to 3000, and it responds to all of those very well. If you are seeing too much early hook, take the cover up to 4000, too much length, just sand it to 1000 or even 500, it takes to those changes extremely well! Do not be afraid to adjust the surface to your game, this ball can handle it! 45 ft. Weber pattern: I just rolled on this pattern a few days ago, and the Effect Tour was the best ball in my bag on the fresh. Projection and speed control are key, and the Effect Tour at 2000 was the perfect matchup. It rolled forward perfectly and hit heavy through the pins, carrying the off pocket hits extremely well. As the four game block progressed, I was able to move further inside, roll the ball firm off my hand, and it saw the friction consistently, making my moves easier and more trustworthy, resulting in higher scores and more confidence in the ball. If you are looking for that “benchmark” ball reaction from a high end asymmetric, with just a slightly lower diff. to help on those tricky sport patterns, look no further than the Hammer Effect Tour. Hammer Effect Tour

I had a chance to work with the Hammer Effect Tour. The Effect Tour features a modified Effect (Huntsman) asymmetric core to lower the RG and differential so as to create the earlier/smoother motion. The coverstock is the Tour V3 solid colored in tour blue. Box finish is 1500 Siaair. I drilled one thus far using my favorite pin down layout of 60 x 5 x 70 and tried it today on leftover THS. I kept it at box finish. Anyone that knows my favorite pieces of equipment knows how much I love the Hammer Envy Tour. I drilled 2 originally and I used them so much in tournaments, I drilled 2 more Envy Tours with the exact same layouts to replace the first 2. Thus, when the Effect Tour was announced, my interest was definitely piqued. The Effect Tour is designed to be another slower response, smooth type of motion to provide the bowler with control on fresh which is especially effective on demanding patterns. The Effect Tour has a little higher RG and differential when compared to an Envy Tour. I tested a fresh Envy Tour with the same layout and I put it at 1500 Siaair so I could get an accurate comparison. When comparing the Envy Tour to the Effect Tour, I definitely was about an arrow further left with the Effect. The Effect Tour was maybe a tiny bit cleaner but the difference is in the backend motion. The Effect Tour has a stronger motion than an Envy Tour. I had to be about an arrow further left getting the Effect Tour to the same point as the Envy Tour. That notwithstanding, the Effect Tour will be at its best on medium to high volumes of oil on the fresh. Like with the Envy Tour, I fully expect the Hammer Effect Tour to excel on fresh sport patterns where slower response equipment is often in play. I think any bowler that competes on higher difficulty patterns will want an Effect Tour in their bag for the fresh. Personally speaking, I'll definitely be punching another 1 or 2 of these pieces. The Hammer Effect Tour releases officially on November 21, 2024. Please see your local pro shop for more information.

Question:

How is this ball if you have a slower ball?

3/1/2025 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

If you have a lower rev rate to match your lower ball speed then you should be fine using this ball in heavier oil conditions. However, if you rev dominant, this ball is already designed to read early and may not be a good match because it will react too strong too early.
