As we enter June, for many of us, school’s out, warmer weather is here. It’s time for summer bowling! May was an incredible month for bowling ball sales here at Bowling.com, and as promised, we’re taking a look at all the customer favorite bowling balls from this past month! There are some familiar balls, like the Hammer Black Widow 3.0, the Storm Phaze II, and the Hammer Effect, but we have a couple of new contenders as well! So let’s get started with an exciting ball, May’s top seller, the new Hammer Arctic Vibe!

The new Arctic Vibe from Hammer is a mid-performance bowling ball that really shines on the lanes. The first thing that stands out to bowlers is the incredible color mix of bright white and purple. From the moment you pull it out of your bag you’ll get people’s attention. But this ball isn’t just a looker so don’t let the “mid-performance” label fool you. The Arctic Vibe is a killer on the lanes with explosive backend reaction. Hammer isn’t just giving you new color options with the new Vibes, but actually extending the line. Does something look familiar? Seems like we've seen this ball somewhere. Oh that's right, this is the second straight month the incredible Black Widow 3.0 is near the top of our sales list. Let us remind you what you need to know about this beast of a ball. The Hammer Black Widow 3.0 Solid is an upper mid-performance ball with an upgraded HK22 - Aggression Solid Reactive coverstock that'll give you the hook you're looking for. The Gas Mask core gives you aggressive backend. This ball is a heavy hitter! One of our customers, Joey G. says this ball is "very predictable with a smooth but strong motion downlane and through the deck." Another customer, Jessica, says the Black Widow 3.0 is "one of the smoothest balls in my bag." A common comment from users is that it's one of the most predictable balls around and so they find themselves grabbing it first out of their bags on medium to heavy oil.

Ok, we're sensing a trend here. Another tried and true ball is hanging around on the top sellers list for May, 2024. Last month in second place... this month in third (but still going strong) the Storm Phaze II is a long-time favorite of Bowling.com's bowlers. Another upper mid-performance piece, the Phaze II was also built for medium to heavy oil. And like the Black Widow 3.0, if you're looking for hook, the Phaze II is a beast due to the T X - 16 Solid Reactive coverstock. If you've never been exposed to Storm bowling balls you'll be pleasantly surprised that each ball has a special scent. Although the Phaze II is a main course of a ball, it smells of dessert, specifically red velvet cake! What do you guys say about this ball? One bowler, after buying their second Phaze II, says it's "one of the best bowling balls ever made." That's about the highest praise you can find for a product! He went on to see the ball "can be used for almost any condition you might encounter." The Phaze II from Storm is a monster on the lanes, super versatile. It will definitely upgrade your game.

The fourth ball for May, 2024 is in the same line as the #2 ball on the list, Hammer's most successful line of bowling balls. The Black Widow Ghost has climbed the ranks of top sellers this month. And it's easy to see why. The polished pearl look of this ball will definitely get attention from your friends. And if features the original Gas Mask core that is more than tried and true. The Agression Pearl Reactive coverstock will give you serious hook and a late break on medium to heavy oil. Our customer Shawn from Minnesota says it has dependable back-end reaction (even on the second or third game). Another Bowling.com bowler simply says it's a "Perfect Ball." That's pretty high praise. But not unexpected for an upper mid-performance ball in the Black Widow line of Hammer bowling balls.

In April it was third, now it's fifth. You've never seen a high-performance ball (yep, finally an HP ball in the top sellers) quite like this. No other performance ball has done this so it will definitely stand out visually! But that's just a start. The Effect is a high hooking ball with aggressive mid-lane and backend due to the innovative Hunstman core shape. What do Bowling.com's bowlers think about the Effect? Erica A. says [I] "averaged over 230 on the Weber the first time I used the Effect in competition." One great comment from a bowler was, "It is clean through the fronts, like my black Widow 2.0 Hybrid, but it starts earlier and handles the oil better. I noticed on shots that I missed in, it would read and strike, where the 2.0 Hybrid would either leave a two pin or hopefully mix up a strike." Don't look past the Hammer Effect. It's selling so well for a reason.
