Balls with Same Hook Potential, Lane Conditions and Coverstock as the Brunswick Hero Solid:

Brunswick Hero Solid

Following the success of the Hero Pearl, Brunswick is introducing the Hero Solid. The solid version of this ball is better paired with more oil than the pearl. The versatility of this ball makes it a good benchmark bowling ball for a wide range of bowlers. The Brunswick Hero utilizes Brunswicks Durability Optimization Technology (DOT). This technology by Brunswick was developed to reduce the chance of cracking by enhancing the ball's durability. The Activator Plus 2.0 Solid coverstock and Contra core pair up to give this ball an all-purpose ball reaction that is great for all types of players.

Question:

I want to replace this my hammer Web with this ball is that a good idea

11/9/2020 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, this would be pretty close to the Hammer Web. They both are upper mid performance balls and have the same 2000 grit finish out of the box to help the ball read the mid lane and have a smooth arcing hook down the lane. The Web had a hybrid cover which did give a little more length than the solid cover on the Hero Solid but they would still have a similar overall hook and work well in medium oil conditions.

Question:

What affect would a shine have on a solid ball

2/26/2021 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Adding polish or shine to a duller solid ball would help it go longer on the lanes. Also, this will usually make the ball work in slightly less oil. So for instance this ball is rated for medium oil with the dull finish out of the box but if you add polish it could work in medium to lighter oil conditions.
