Best hammer ball I have owned
This ball is so smooth and predictable for me. It also goes through the pins with aggression. I ended up shooting 868 with it. Plus a bunch of other high scores. It is adaptable to any type of bowler.

Black Widow 3.0
Black Widow 3.0 is the latest greatest release in the Black Widow line and does not disappoint! This piece is very predictable with a smooth but strong motion downlane and through the deck. She will easily be your first pick out of your bag for medium to heavier oil patterns. It made it’s debut on the Earl Anthony pattern this past weekend which was very challenging. On the fresh, I was able to roll it to my target revved up but not throw it at it which would be peril. The response and hitting power just proves why the Black Widow line is and always has been a cut above. The black and orange coloration is turning heads in every bowling center and pro shop. Don’t miss out on getting yours today!!

Another Winner
Hammer has done it again with its new Black Widow 3.0 The gas mask core is back and combined with the solid version of the HK22 cover stock make this is one of the smoothest balls in my bag. This ball is super predictable and perfect for any medium/heavy oil patterns. It’s very continuous through the pins. Definitely a fantastic benchmark ball in my opinion.

Could this be the best Black Widow ever?
I have thrown a lot of Black Widow bowling balls over the years, but this might be the best one yet. For me this ball is currently the big hooking ball in my bag, and it fits that spot pretty well. For a sanded ball, I am still able to get this to the breakpoint easily without it overreacting. When it reads the pattern the Gas Mask core takes over and really hooks strong off the spot. Unlike some other sanded pieces, this one doesn't jump hard, all that energy is directed right at the pins before it destroys them.

Great compliment
I’m a huge fan of the Widow line and the 3.0 does not disappoint. This is a benchmark to stronger benchmark type ball that can be used on a variety of lane conditions and it has a lot of shape down lane for me for a solid ball. Most stronger solids burn up on me on medium oil and I can only throw them on heavy volume. The Widow 3.0 retains energy and shape even if it’s not sport pattern kind of volumes. Out of the box the comments were on how early and smooth the 3.0 was on the lane. It struck quite a bit. As it lane shined it became longer and a lot more angular but still strikes quite a bit. The 3.0 is a great compliment to the Widow 2.0 Hybrid for times where you need something with a bit more teeth in the oil.

Black Widow 3.0
Black Widow 3.0 the first 2 words says it all "Black Widow". With the Gas mask core wrapped in HK22 based Aggression Solid cover stock. This ball will not disappoint. It is 1st out of the bag. It is very versatile for me. On the fresh I can play straighter angle with it and as the pattern breaks down I can open up the angles. It is very clean through the fronts with very aggressive back end. This is a must have for anyone. Go get one today you wont be disappointed.

Need The Ball to Hook?
This ball has an early read and a very strong backend. If you are bowling on a heavier oil pattern, leave the coverstock as is. If you are bowling mainly house patterns and find that it is too much, you can polish this ball and turn it into the envy of your league. If you liked the 2.0, you will love this, as it appears to be the 2.0's big brother.

Big Roll, Big Hook
I was really skeptical about this ball. I love my Widow 2.0 hybrid; I didn't think it was possible to top its capabilities in a heavy oil category. I am surprised and very pleased to say that the 3.0 is basically a 2.0 hybrid on steroids. It can handle the heavy oil and still maintain the Widow reaction. This core works very well with the combo of the Aggression Solid / HK-22 cover. The cover maintains its finish very well and doesn't get bogged down with oil. The pins explode when it hits the pocket. It maintains the same numbers as the Widow 2.0 hybrid when it comes to tech specs but that cover just digs in and can get you through the oil on the lane.
If you are looking for a ball above your Widow 2.0 hybrid or Envy Tour, don't miss this ball! Its gooooood!

Black Widow
what can i say about this ball. Very strong and really early, i had to smooth it out with 4000 grit to at least get the length down lane on a house shot. I think for house shots and great for tourney benchmark ball. cant go wrong with another Widow in your bag.

Black Widow is BACK!!
Boy did Hammer get this one right with another addition to an incredible line with the Black Widows. The Black Widow 3.0 has the backend reaction that you may not have in the 2.0. Is it the Gas Mask Core? Is it the HK22? You should get yours and see for yourself! I drilled mine slightly earlier and stronger than I typically drill my equipment, (50 x 5 x 20), and my favorite pin down layout, and both bowling balls do not disappoint! The midlane read and backend reaction for both bowling balls are strong and continuous through the pins. Don't wait on this ball! As we head into tournament season, this ball is a must have in your bag!

3.0
I drilled mine 30 X 4 X 55. The Hammer Black Widow 3.0 perfectly complements my Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid. The HK-22 cover stock with Aggression Solid additives has created the ideal option for heavy oil lane conditions. This ball does not quit down the lane and will be an excellent benchmark piece for me. The Black Widow line is incredible; you will not want to miss out on this 3.0.

Hammer Black Widow 3.0
Hammer didn't disappoint with the latest addition to the Widow line. The Black Widow 3.0 has the trusty Gas Mask core, but they really beefed up the cover by adding HK22 to the base cover-stock. This ball is big & strong yet not uncontrollable. For me when I compared it to my BW 2.0 it hooked about 4 & 2 more and had a little more angle thru the pins. The 3.0 doesn't eliminate the 2.0, it compliments it very well. This ball will be good on both House shots & Sport patterns. I will have a Widow triple tote at every tournament. BW 3.0, BW 2.0, & BW 2.0 Hybrid.

Hammer Widow 3.0
Since 2006 when the very first Black Widow was released, there has yet to be a Widow I didn't like. Widows have always matched up well for my particular game...thus I was very happy to see a new Widow being released. The Widow 3.0 features the tried and true Gas Mask Core wrapped by an Aggression Solid cover with the HK-22 base. The Widow 3.0 comes in Hammer colors- black and orange! Factory surface is 2000 Siaair. The layout on this Widow 3.0 is 40 x 4 3/4 x 20. I have tried the Widow 3.0 on fresh THS and on what I suspect was leftover THS with lots of house ball plastic going down the lane thus making the pattern play a lot longer due to carrydown.
The new Widow 3.0 is designed to provide more traction on oil compared to last season's Widow 2.0 which was a bit longer with the hybrid cover. I made specific mention of the lane condition because the other ball I had with me as a comparison would NOT shape in the back part of the lane...the carrydown was that bad. The only way I could get the other ball to shape was to expose it to the friction way to the right and have it stand up and then lay off. When I put the Widow 3.0 on the part of the lane where the other ball would not shape, the Widow 3.0 had no issues getting through the sludge. It appears Hammer will have another winner here for medium to heavy volume patterns. I have drilled another one with a weaker pin down layout to give me a different shape. Like with all previous Widows, I fully expect to see many styles of players having success and it should be very versatile in terms of using different layouts to achieve different shapes.
The Hammer Widow 3.0 is currently available- see your local pro shop for more information.

3.0 the best BW ever
Black widow 3.0 the strongest black widow ever made. This ball really hooks a lot for a black widow. Compared to the black widow 2.0, this BW will be a little bit earlier little and a little bit stronger on the backend. compared to the 2.0 hybrid this ball will be earlier than the 2.0 hybrid but it won’t be a strong down lane at the 2.0 hybrid. Being a solid I see this being in my bag as possibly a first ball out and you can use his ball on both house, shots and sports shots.

This ball is really REALLY good!
I have loved my two other Black Widows, 2.0 Hybrid and Ghost. This ball gives me the same motion when there is more oil or a longer pattern. I used the Black Widow 3.0 on the Deadman’s curve pattern, 44 feet. I was able to open up the lane and get the ball to arc at 7 or 8, and still hot the pocket. As a high tilt player, that is a big deal. I now have a ball that lets me have the same motion as other players. This is my first HK22 solid, and I love it!
Customer Questions & Answers | Reviews
Question:
What is the difference of RG & top weight?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
For the Widow 3.0 in 15lbs the RG is 2.50. Top weight can be requested when placing the order and there can be different top weights available between different balls but there is not a way to request the RG value. For the definitions radius of gyration (RG) is the distance from the axis of rotation at which the total mass of a body might be concentrated without changing its moment of inertia. Simply put, RG is when your ball begins to rev up. Low RG bowling balls rev up earlier on the lane than high RG bowling balls. Top weight also deals with the length of reaction you get on the ball but top weight is defined as the actual weight difference between the bottom half and the top half of the Bowling Ball..

Question:
Which is the most versatile the black widow 3.0,Venom shock,Hammer low flare?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The Hammer Widow 3.0 is going to have a very strong hook potential which makes this ball work best in medium to heavier oil conditions. The Hammer Scorpion Low Flare has a lower hook potential and works best in medium oil conditions. It may depend on what you bowl in more often but if you are in heavier oil more often the Widow 3.0 may be the way to go. If you are in lighter conditions more often the Low Flare may work better for you.

Question:
Would this be a good choice for a speed dominant low rev bowler?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hi JD! This ball has a solid coverstock and duller finish so it will read in the midlane and have a smoother arcing hook down the lane. If you are more speed dominant or if you have a lower rev rate this ball could be a good choice!

Question:
I just bought this ball 3.0 I really love the ball ,but if the lanes are dry it's not as controllable for me at all ,why is that
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
In the Hammer product description it should show this ball is only suited for medium to heavier oil conditions. The features on this ball that give it such a strong hook potential will make this ball too aggressive for lighter oil conditions. There is not a performance ball that will work well in all conditions because if the ball is designed to work well in light oil, it will not be strong enough to grip when there is heavier oil on the lanes and if the ball is designed for heavier oil, it will grip too early and too strong on lighter conditions to be able to control it. This is also why you may see some bowlers with a few different bowling balls that they use because they have some that are more suited for lighter oil and some more suited for heavier oil.

Question:
What is the ball finish number on the Hammer 3.0 from the factory right out of the box!
Have an answer to this question?
Question:
I have the 3.0, should I get a phase 2? Or will they have the same reaction.
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The Widow 3.0 Solid will have a slightly higher hook potential overall than the Phaze II. However, both have a solid coverstock and duller finish out of the box to read well in the midlane for a smooth arcing hook. Both also handle medium to heavy oil conditions. So if you have one of these you would not likely need the other.

Question:
I’m looking for a replacement for my brutal collision would the 3.0 do the trick
Have an answer to this question?
Question:
I bowl a slow ball what the best hammer for me 75 years old
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
If you have a lower ball speed and lower rev rate then you may could use the Widow 3.0 for heavier oil conditions but because this ball wants to react earl on the lane and it has a high hook potential it may not be the best option for a slower ball speed. If you have a an average to lower rev rate then you may consider the Widow Ghost for medium to heavy oil. If you have a higher rev rate with slower speed you may consider a Scorpion Strike on medium to heavy. In lower oil you can also consider the Ocean Vibe.
