As expected - hits hard!
I watched the reaction of this ball when my father threw it and it had a great reaction and drove hard. I bought one and have not been disappointed, first league game I used it, shot 241. Great transition after lanes start breaking down, so game 2 and sometimes 3 in league, dependable back-end reaction, and it hits like a HAMMER!

Most Skid/Flip ball ever
This is the most skip/flip ball I have ever thrown. As a player who does not hook the ball a bunch, this ball is a must. It enables me to move left and throw it right when pattern breaks down. This has been my go-to ball for the last few games of the block.

The Gas Mask Core Is Back!!
The Gas Mask Core is back! Drilled pin up and pin down, it’s my BW Pink only a bit stronger! Don’t hesitate to scuff the cover with a 2000 pad to take some shine off. Great ball out the bag with surface and transition ball. First week with it, I shot 300. Layout: Pin Up - 55 x 4.5 x 30 Pin Down - 65 x 3.5 x 75

Hammer Black Widow Ghost
If you are looking for a ball that is smooth in the front and gets down the lane and then pops, this ball is for you. The ghost provides a good ball for medium to high oil ball but could also be used for that short pattern if needed.

Black Widow GHOST
The black widow ghost is Sexy! Not only are you getting the legendary black widow performance that you’ve come to expect from the black widow line but this ball also looks good on the lane, on the ball rack, in your bag, and especially on the shelf. This ball will be clean through the fronts just like other black widows but where the Ghost caught my attention is how close it is to the original black widow. Not too snappy down lane but not short on movement or power either. There’s a reason this ball has been on tv so much this year!

Widow does it again!
Boo! Hammer has released a monster! The Widow Ghost is a pearl that can handle oil. It is extremely strong not he mid lane and will give you a smooth and even arc to the pocket. Need to move inside? Don't worry, the ghost can handle almost any condition. It feeds on oil and will never give up. Not only does it look awesome, it performs like a true monster...

New Bench Mark Ball
What can i say, it is another amazing Widow! My Ghost is super clean through the heads and strong in the back ends. only have about 12 games on it or so and shot 814 with it. Doesn't over hook, doesn't underhook. Really reliable ball! This is my new benchmark ball. Great for house shots for me! You need to get one asap.

Black Widow Ghost
The Black Widow Ghost Pearl features the original Gas Mask core shape the bowling world knows and loves and is combined with a Carbon Fiber outer core for durability and power. I have used this ball on a house pattern. For me, it rolls extremely heavy with a moderate backend reaction.

Believe The Hype
Used my typical 45 x 4 x 45 layout (Asym). Typically bowl league on Kegel High Street - Main Street - Wall Street. I can use the Ghost all 3 games usually with minor move/speed adjustment and it clears the heads no problem and makes a nice strong continuous move at the breakpoint with great pin carry. It's a Hammer Black Widow with the gasmask core, so if you're a long time Hammerhead you'll understand. I was hoping there would not be any quality issues compared to the previous balls made at the EBI facility and was pleased to see the same great performance. If you haven't thrown a ball in the Black Widow series before, give this one a try. It's my new favorite and I have had them all going back to the original '06 BW.

Ghost!
The ghost is very clean through the fronts with a bit more angle and pop down lane. The white color makes it even more appealing to people, giving it great shelf appeal. This ball provides very consistent, good continuation through the pins and is a good step up from the Pink Widow if you are looking for something a pinch stronger.

Frightfully GOOD
This is almost like the Pink Widow, But just a pinch stronger in the roll phase. Very clean through the front and mids with a smooth yet strong direction change down lane. I noticed that the Ghost Pearl keeps the pins lower than the Pink Widow did but not sure if that was a desired intent on making it. The Core is obviously the same and the cover is a pinch different but still in the same family with Aggression Pearl. I really can’t say I love this ball enough, A true winner in the looks category and a stud on the performance side. If you don’t have this Widow in the bag, you automatically start the game 15 pins down! Its that Good!

This ghost is a monster
I’m a lower rev bowler who averages in the 180’s. Been bowling with a Hammer Taboo for years. Just got the Ghost on Saturday bowled a 212, 245, 161 in Sunday league. Last game was my fault ran out of gas. I find this ball is very responsive, hooks if you want it to, and extremely forgiving. This is my go to ball now!

Black Widow Ghost: A must have!!
I drilled the Black Widow Ghost 70 x 4.5" x 35 to be a strong rolling, yet snappy asym pearl, and that's exactly what I got. On my leagues 41 foot sport shot, it clears the heads, picks up the mid-lane just enough, and explodes on the back, with super continuation. On the typical house shot, just toss it at the gutter and watch it peel off the spot hard and fast, throwing pins everywhere. The Black Widow Ghost is a perfect complement to the Black Widow 2.0 Solid. I did a side by side lefty/righty video ball review with my Frankie & Ding Dong Show co-host here, check it out:

Black Widow Ghost
I used a 60 x 4.5 x 25 layout (pin up) on this ball. It’s the same layout that I used on my Red Legend Pearl and Pink Widow. For me, it’s a little cleaner (longer) than the pink, but very responsive (angular) off the end of the pattern. I have a higher ball speed (18+) so it’s been a great game two ball and a perfect step down from my Black Widow 2.0. This ball is a must have and will get a lot of usage, especially on house shot conditions!

Hammer Black Widow Ghost
Personally I've always had success with the Gas Mask core and the Black Widow Ghost is no exception. This pearl covered ball just shapes well and goes through the pins well. I matched it up with my Black Widow Pink and although they are similar, they not the same. For me, the Pink picks up a little sooner and shapes in more of an arc while the Ghost continues a little longer and is a little more flippy. For me this will be a medium oil ball and should work great on most house shots

Black Widow Ghost
Just wrapped up my session with the Hammer Black Widow Ghost which releases on 11/19/21! This ball is exactly what I had been looking for. As a left hander with a not so high rev rate (330) I struggled to match up on longer patterns when the pattern started to break down and my solid balls were burning up. The Ghost fills that void. It’s cleaner through the front and stored the energy needed to get back to the pocket and carry as opposed to the flat seven’s I was leaving. This ball will fit in my tournament bag as well as league. It will be the perfect progression from the widow 2.0 and reminds me of the pink widow for those of you looking for a comparison.

Super Responsive to friction
The Black Widow Ghost has the classic Gas Mask core wrapped in the Aggression Pearl cover... and I don't think I can say anything less than is it a match made in heaven! This ball gets down lane with ease and has that classic black widow motion through the first 35-40 ft.... Then the pearl cover takes over, and this Ghost pops out of the pattern and cuts through the pins like a knife through warm butter.
When I've needed to get left, open my angles up, & get the ball to come back from ungodly spots on the lane... This Ghost comes alive.
This ball is not just for high rev players like myself, I can foresee a number of players with varying rev rates and speeds have a great deal of success with this ball!

Black Widow Ghost
The new Black Widow Ghost doesn’t disappoint! Featuring the gas mask core! This core has been proven over the years. My initial thought was this was going to be like the pink black widow but I was pleased to see the New Ghost was more responsive off the spot. It was very versatile and I was able to move left and still snap out the ten pin! It’s a good looking ball that delivers the punch we’ve come to expect from the widow line!!!

Hammer Widow Ghost
So, I just punched the brand new Hammer Widow Ghost. The new Widow Ghost formally releases on November 19, 2021. The Ghost features the legendary Gas Mask Core wrapped by an Aggression Pearl cover. The new Ghost absolutely stands out in a crowd!
My “vitals” are a 405 rev rate with a PAP of 5 9/16 over and 1/8 up. I drilled a Hammer Widow Ghost with a 40x5x25 layout. I have used this ball at 3000 Abralon. I have tried the new Widow Ghost on THS and the 2021 PBA Roth pattern.
I have had over the years great success with Widows and Taboos. They all have featured the Gas Mask core with different covers. Every Widow I have drilled has earned a spot in my arsenal and will be the first out of the bag when an asymmetric core ball is the best option. The Widow Ghost seems to be no different. What I find interesting about the Ghost is this- the pre EBI acquisition Pink Widow featured the same coverstock as the Ghost. However, the new Ghost seems to be more responsive down lane when it sees friction compared to the Pink Widow. As with prior Widows, I expect this new Widow to suit many styles and can achieve multiple ball motions depending on layout.
See your local pro shop for more information on the new Hammer Widow Ghost.

Scary Good Ball!!
This ball is scary good! My specs are 4 ¾ x 1, 16 mph and 325 rpm rev rate. I drilled this ball 50 x 5 1/8 x 35. First game off the press was 269. It gave me a great look in the mids, plenty of length and a strong finish. I carried flush hits as well as off hits. I am a fan!

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

It can be iffy
I don't know if my problem with the ball is that it chips or that it is just okay on heavy oil. I have been bowling with it for a year now and can safely say this was a great starter ball with myself bowling an average of around 160-170. This ball was a blessing and a curse. It was difficult to get used to and I wasn't able to get the spin on it that I wanted. I repositioned my feet multiple times and when I think I pick it up, I then struggle for the next 6 frames. The ball chips really easily. I have chunks out of the ball and it was repaired within 2-3 weeks of getting it. The lanes I go to could be cheap, or the ball could've been cold, but either way, the ball should not have chunks coming out of it almost daily. I went today, as I normally would, and had to break in the oil since it was literally just laid out. It did alright, it just took 2 games for me to get used to it. It hooks amazingly and how I want it to now, but I would only recommend this ball if you are really wanting something powerful. It's like a motorbike with a powerful engine, you gotta work your way up to the higher cc motorcycles, you can't just get on a 900 cc bike and expect to be an expert. I hope this helps.

Chipped
This ball is awesome, definitely something almost anyone could use, the ball breaks late which fits my 2 handed play style. The ball unfortunately chipped way to easily for me. I’ve been using it for 4 days and just recently got it drilled. Unfortunately a lot of big chunks came out of the ball. I’ve had the ball since Christmas but it’s still a little sad that the smooth exterior was already ruined
Customer Questions & Answers | Reviews
Question:
what’s better the black widow ghost or black widow 2.0
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The Widow Ghost is designed to go longer and have a sharper backend hook while the Widow 2.0 is designed to read the lanes earlier for a smoother arcing hook. So it depends on which style will best fit for you.

Question:
Which one is better the 2.0 or the ghost?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
I would not say one is better than the other. It just depends on the reaction you need. The Ghost is designed to get down the lane further and have a sharper backend hook while the 2.0 is designed to have an earlier read to give you more of an arcing smooth hook.

Question:
How does the black widow ghost compare to the motiv trident quest?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The reaction will be very similar on both bowling balls. The Trident Quest is rated as a high performance while the Widow Ghost is an upper mid performance so the Trident Quest may have slightly more hook potential but they will be close. They both go longer on the lanes and have a strong backend hook.

Question:
What is the difference between the BW Ghost and the BW Legend?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The different would be between the coverstocks and the different finishes. The Ghost has a pearl cover and a slightly smoother finish to give it more length while the Legend has a hybrid cover and a slightly earlier read on the lanes. Both read strong on the backend but the Ghost will go a little longer.

Question:
I have a black widow 2.0 , would this be worth upgrading to
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball would definitely give you a different look on the lanes than the 2.0. This is designed to go much longer on the lanes and give you a sharper backend hook and this can help this ball work a little better down in the more medium oil conditions while the 2.0 will need more oil on the lanes to work ideally. So this could give you a decent option to move to if the 2.0 is starting to catch too early or if you need to play a different line because the other bowlers are all tracking down the same part of the lane and drying it out.

Question:
If I finish it with 3000 grit ,how will it affect the ball reaction
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
A duller finish would help the ball to grip earlier on the lanes and it would make the reaction be smoother for more of an arcing hook versus a sharper hook on the backend.

How would the ghost compare to brunswick hero

Question:
As a low speed, low rev bowler ( I'm a senior) is the Black Widow Ghost a reasonable buy for me?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
This ball was designed to work in medium to heavy oil and the polished finish and pearl coverstock will help the ball get down the lane which is good if you have a lower ball speed so this could be a very good option for you.

Question:
I was thinking about getting the black widow ghost. I currently have a Brunswick quantum fire pearl alongside my roto grip Rst x-3. How comparable is the ghost to the fire pearl quantum?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hi Kratos! The Hammer Black Widow Ghost would react earlier and have a higher hook potential than both the Roto Grip RST X-3 and Brunswick Quantum Fire Pearl.

Question:
Which has a better hook the BW ghost or DV8 Frequency?
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Both bowling balls will have their benefits and instead of saying that one is better than another we would prefer to think of it as which one is better for which bowler? The BW Ghost will give you more length for a sharper backend hook because of the pearl coverstock and compound finish so if you were rev dominant or had a slower ball speed then you may prefer the Ghost over the Frequency. The Frequency will read a little earlier on the lane and give a smoother arcing hook with the hybrid coverstock and dull out of box finish so it may be more suited for a bowler that is speed dominant or someone with lower revs.
