Motiv Sky Raptor
The Raptor has returned in the form of the Motiv Sky Raptor. This high-performance bowling ball utilizes a strong Affliction V2 fore along with the very strong Dynamic Infusion coverstock. This pearlized bowling ball was designed to attack down-lane as heavier oil conditions wear down and more friction is present. The Affliction V2 core includes a density upgrade giving the ball an increased rev potential and track flare. The Sky Raptor has a higher hook potential as well as an RG and differential that are ideal for heavier oil conditions. The Dynamic Infusion Pearl Reactive coverstock is finished with 50000 Grit LSS and was designed to dig into oil to create backend entry angle when the lanes start to break down.

Super Strong Pearl
This is the strongest pearl symmetric ball I have ever thrown. I drilled mine fairly strong 50-4 7/8 -34 which allowed it to pick up in the mid lane with a continuous motion. With a longer pin to PAP I could see this having more of a skid flip motion. When compared to the Mythic Jackal the Sky Raptor was smoother off the friction with a strong roll to the pocket. This is the first polished Motiv ball I did not have to touch the surface on because its that strong. Once again, another step forward for Motiv pearl balls.

Motiv Sky Raptor
I was really happy when I found out the Raptor line was coming back. I was even happier when I saw that it’s and updated version of the core in the VIP Affliction. This ball fits exactly where I thought it would. Right after that VIP, and something I can use to create angle, before I get into a weaker core in the Shock, or an even cleaner cover in the pride empire. Personally I like to see shiny pearls that don’t come off the friction too quick. I find them more usable from straighter angles, as well as opening up the lane, and that is exactly what is appealing to me about this ball. I’m really looking forward to getting this onto some flatter patterns in tournaments to really see what I can do with this ball

Raptor Sky Review
The Sky Raptor is the newest ball in our line and fits in the Heavy oil/angular category. An absolutely amazing release from Motiv Bowling. Bowlers will find this ball stronger in the oil with still having a fast down lane motion. With that combination it gives you the ability to use the Sky Raptor for longer spurts of time. The Sky Raptor is by far the Fastest Heavy oil piece Motiv has produced.
The Sky Raptor has the new Affliction V2 core. The Affliction V2 core gives a higher hook potential and provides an RG and differential that’s better suited for higher volumes of oil.
The Sky Raptor has a new Dynamic Infusion pearl reactive technology, the Sky Raptor is designed to create downlane motion in heavy oil. The Sky Raptor clears the fronts easily, with a fast down lane motion.

The Sky Raptor Soared into my Bag
The Sky Raptor takes performance to a unique shape from Motiv's previous pieces. It is not afraid of oil but also retains energy well. For me, this fits well between a Trident Odyssey and a Pride Empire, particularly when the original Pride would be a little too lazy down lane.

Question:
Would this be a good ball to replace the talon if not which ball would replace it
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Hello! The Motiv Raptor Talon was a solid coverstock which reacts earlier and more aggressively than the pearl coverstock Motiv Sky Raptor. If you are looking for something with the same features as the Raptor Talon, I would suggest the Motiv Mythic Jackal.
