Motiv Carbide Tank
Following the success of the Blue Tank Motiv went back to the drawing board to develop a ball that would be even stronger. The Tour Edition Motiv Carbide Tank upper-mid performance bowling ball is armored in the Frixion M4 Solid MCP which is the strongest Microcell Polymer coverstock so far. This coverstock mimics reactive resin more than traditional urethane. This coverstock helps offer a smooth motion on the heavy oil seen on today's competitive bowling lanes. This bowling ball has a 1000-grit finish that uses a technology that resists lane shine and holds on to the out-of-the-box dull sanded finish longer. The Carbide Tank uses the same symmetric Gear core as the ever-popular Venom Shock. This core has a low RG and moderate differential that assist in reducing track flare and help the ball to rev up faster and dig into the oil early.

Customer Questions & Answers | Reviews
Question:
Does the mcp cover stock carry oil down lane like traditional urethane
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
Typically urethane coverstocks do not absorb oil as much as reactive resin but the Frixion M4 Solid MCP is designed to mimic reactive resin more than traditional urethane. This helps this ball work in heavier oil conditions where most other urethanes work in medium to lighter oil conditions so I would not say this ball causes as much carry down as a traditional urethane.

Question:
What is the difference between this ball and the black covert tank
Have an answer to this question?
Answer:
The Carbide Tank is designed to be a strong urethane ball which helps it react closer to a reactive resin ball but still give you a smoother reaction like a urethane. This higher hook helps it handle more oil. So essentially the Carbide Tank can react in medium to heavier oil the way that the Black Covert Tank reacted in lighter oil.
