Storm Ion Pro

Storm has introduced a groundbreaking innovation following the success of revered models like the !Q Tour and Phaze II. Enter the Storm Ion Pro, Storm Bowling's inaugural asymmetric benchmark ball. It sets a new standard for reliability, offering balanced performance across various lane conditions. Versatile and adaptable, it empowers bowlers to fine-tune their game without the need for multiple balls. With its inclusive design catering to every style and approach, the Ion Pro is a must-have addition to any bowler's arsenal. The Element Tour A.I. Core showcases a unique stacked ellipse design, positioning smaller ellipses at the ends of the X-axis and the widest ellipse at the central point of the Y-axis. Diverging from the cavity designs seen in the Crux™ and Absolute™, this configuration amplifies the dynamic shifts between different layouts. By centralizing mass with a focus on the largest ellipse at the ball's geographic center, the Element Tour A.I. Core achieves a lower RG, making it one of Storm's most strikingly low RG asymmetrical designs to date. In contrast to typical asymmetric weight blocks, where the thinnest portion generating asymmetry lies close to the Y-Axis, the Element employs a stairstep asymmetry approach. Despite the widest part being at the Y-Axis, each subsequent ellipse, though narrower, is offset, intensifying the asymmetry with every step. Finding a coverstock as dependable and adaptable as TX-16 is a challenge in itself. Initially introduced through the Phaze™ II, TX-16 has instilled unwavering confidence in bowlers worldwide over the years. In this hybrid rendition, it combines length and durability, offering a level of versatility that's seldom matched. The Ion Pro sets out to redefine the very essence of "benchmark" in bowling.

Storm Ion Pro

The new ball in the Storm Premier line is the Storm Ion Pro. Can you say benchmark ball! This is a ball that has been missing from the storm line, a low diff low RG asymmetrical bowling ball. I drilled mine 4 1/2 x 4 x4x2 pin up. The ION pro is a perfect combo of length and strength. Not too early or a huge backend motion. ION just gives you control. 2 handers absolutely loves the ION. The ION pro is a good compliment to the other staples in the lineup Phaze 2 and IQ Tour. Not as early as a Phaze 2 and not as much on backend as an IQ. Great ball and sales have been great. A true winner from Storm.

Ion Pro redefines the meaning benchmark

The Ion Pro is an impressive addition to the Storm lineup, designed to serve as a versatile ball that redefines the meaning of “benchmark” for everyone. The Element ™ Tour A.I. Core combine with the TX-16 Hybrid cover stock, and changing the finish on my Ion Pro to 2000-grit abralon. This make it ideal for players that swing the lane like me. You can count on the Ion Pro to be clean through the front part of the lane, but also smooth traction in the mid-lane with a predictable motion and had a continuous finish. I fell the Ion Pro stay on line longer and give you forgiveness when you miss your target slightly. It also does a very amazing job at blending out the pattern. I fell the Storm Ion Pro lives up to the hype. Being versatile for all bowlers, and everyone should have one in their bag! THE ball of 2024

I'll admit, I have been a huge advocate of both the iQ tour & phaze 2 for a long, long time. When I saw a new asymetric ball that was supposed to take its place.. I was skeptical. After drilling this up, I will say, I wish I didn't have my initial thoughts. With the ability to drill this with more of the bowler in mind, it can give you the exact benchmark ball motion you are looking for. For me, it is stronger than the iQ and phaze 2, but closer to the phaze 2 shape wise. It is a bit longer for me, but still covers the same amount of boards, making it a little sharper on the backend, helping my carry. I've found success on both league shots and sport shots. Very, very happy I drilled this up. You probably should too.

Question:

What Oil conditions is the storm ion pro good for? And what lane lengths should the storm ion pro be used for?

7/14/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Hi! The Recommended Lane Condition is Medium to Heavy Oil lanes and this ball has a late hook, so it will go long before it starts to react.

Question:

I have the reality and that is my strongest ball, would the ion pro be a good choice for something weaker and have more of a smoother motion?

7/17/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Ion Pro will be a little more versatile than the Reality and this helps it work better down into more medium oil conditions while the Reality is more suited for heavier oil conditions. The Hybrid covestock and smoother finish of the Ion Pro also give this a little more length than the Reality but the reaction should still be fairly smooth on the backend.

Question:

I have an question? How will the iron pro go against the summit peak or the summit ascend? Will the summit peak or the summit ascend be to strong or to weaker or just right? Can you use these on house shots?

8/23/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

The Ion Pro was designed to be a very versatile ball and work well in medium to heavy oil conditions. While it falls in the high performance category it is more tuned to be less aggressive than most of the other high performance balls so that it can work better down into more medium conditions. The Summit Ascent will read a little earlier on the lanes while the Summer Peak would read a little later on the lanes but both Summit balls have a stronger weight block that gives more flare potential than the Ion Pro. If you have a few bowling balls in your arsenal the Ion Pro may not be ideal. It may be better if you are needing one ball that handles multiple conditions but if you want or have multiple bowling ball options then you may be better to get a higher performance ball for heavier oil, one of the Summits to transition down to medium and then another option like a Hy-Road Pearl or IQ Tour Ruby for lighter oil.

Question:

Will a slow rev player be able to throw this ball

10/3/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, you should be able to use this ball if you have lower revs. The product description will usually describe how the ball reacts for an average ball speed and average rev rate. If you have a lower rev rate then you may expect a little less hook potential than noted so when it says medium - heavy oil it may be better for you in medium oil.

Question:

I’m a senior and low rev rate and slow speed, can I throw this ball.

10/6/2024 - By

Have an answer to this question?

Answer:

Yes, you could still use this ball. The product description is usually based on an average rev rate and average ball speed. With an average rev and speed the ball is designed to work optimally in medium to heavy oil conditions. If you have a low rev and slower speed then you may find this ball works best for you in more medium lane conditions because in heavier oil it may not have a lot of reaction for your lower rev rate.
